Its about deforestation. Up top there are trees being burned, and the black is the fields leading up to it, soot, ash, dead, dead, dead.

I don't see my comment anywhere here, though I remember looking at it in the full view for ages one time when I went to your gallery. Maybe I thought and thought and then forgot to actually write, I do that sometimes...

I love the tiny tree and the meaning of the image. It's sad and yet it isn't desperate; it speaks volumes in its simplicity. Filling the foreground with the black marks and then the little bit of detail at the top is ingenious.
